Supermodel sues Salma Hayek's husband for 35,000 euro per month child support
The civil trial between Linda Evangelista and fashion billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault has begun in New York, with the fading supermodel asking for a staggering 46,000 US per month in child support.
The child in question is 5-year-old Augustin, result of a brief affair between the two while Pinault and then girlfriend Salma Hayek were seperated. Pinault claims that he had no part in the decision to keep the child, but recognises Augustin as his own.
Ms. Evangelista explained the extraordinarily high amount she is requesting as being necessary to maintain the lifestyle to which Augustin has become accustomed, including armed chauffeurs and a 24-hour nanny. Her chances don't seem great, however, with the judge himself quipping: "That would probably be the largest support order in the history of the Family Court". Pinault, CEO of the firm which owns Gucci and Yves St. Laurent, also has two children from his first marriage, and a daughter from Salma Hayek, to whom he was married in 2009.
