Team Jamelia set the tone for tonight's show, letting rip with a cool cover of Anything Can Happen. As the numbers drop, the overall standard of performances is definitely improving, and a scoring rethink from the coaches has made that side of things a bit more interesting. As Kian said: "Tough love is the name of the game from now on".

Things are hotting up in The Voice of Ireland this week, as the contestants and coaches - not to mention the makers of the show themselves - all come to grips with the challenges of live television. Bum notes are bummer, arguments are longer, and there is no tidying things up in the editing room, which makes for some great entertainment!

The third week of the battle stage in the Voice of Ireland showed the judges battling on with the dilemma over whether contestants should be trying to perform decent duets, or aurally punch eachother out of the ring. The result was a healthy mix of painful self-promotion punctuated by uplifting moments of musical harmony.

It's battle time in the Voice of Ireland, and while the judges wheeled out their biggest guns in the form of world class assistants, the singers were able to show sides of themselves which we didn't get to see in the blind auditions. Some shone, some crashed and burned.

Week 3 of the blind auditions, and the pressure is starting to show as the judges slowly realise how difficult it might be to find 12 great singers each. Much to our disappointment there was far less tension between the jury members, since Kian getting a few decent voices for his team seemed to ease his frustration. Jamelia had a quiet day, Sharon ploughed along steadily, but it was Bressie who grabbed the cream of the crop.
